Far-Right Trump Supporters Gas Children & Cause Injuries on Busy Santa Monica Pier

An anarchist reports from a recent anti-Trump demonstration in Santa Monica, CA, where far-Right grifters and Trump supporters pepper sprayed a large crowd on a busy public pier; spraying children and sending at least one person to the hospital.

It was an eventful Saturday at the Santa Monica Pier in Los Angeles, CA. We heard that Refuse Fascism was doing a Trump / Pence must go demonstration, so we decided to go check it out and help people stay safe in case any violence erupted. We knew that the usual Brandon Recor circus of Trump supporters were going to be there harassing and instigating so we grabbed the med kit, and headed out.

When we arrived, the Revolutionary Communist Party (RCP) and Refuse Fascism was having a rally on the sand while the Trump supporters circled around them and walked through the rally with their Trump and 3% flags, spewing insults.

“At this point we made our way in blocking some of the Trump supporters from harming the people linked in the circle. The Trump people started yelling, pushing and punching at random, knocking people down and beating them.”

Geo-glyph sized letters in the sand that spelled out (Trump – Pence #Out Now!) were captured by a drone during the beginning of the rally. Then they announced they were going to move to the middle of the pier and do a “die in.” The pier was packed with people in full swing, in the middle of the weekend.

As Refuse Fascism circled up on the pier, the Trump supporters became increasingly frustrated at their inability to insight a violent reaction. The rally was a non-violent action and all the participants remained strong and committed to not physically re-acting to repeated antagonism.

When the threat from the Trump supporters started to escalate, the rally goers formed a circle and linked arms to claim space for their rally. At this point we made our way in blocking some of the Trump supporters from harming the people linked in the circle. The Trump people started yelling, pushing and punching at random, knocking people down and beating them. The circle broke open so people could defend themselves from more injury. When the Trump people realized they took on more than they could handle, at least two of them started to fog the pier with pepper spray gassing small children and elderly on-lookers as well as the rally participants. While one of the rally goers was on the ground, one of the pepper sprayers ran over and sprayed him in the face at point blank range.

David Dempsey would later attempt to blame anti-Trump protesters for attacking him first, but video evidence does not support this claim.

More information is coming in but so far the MAGA Hate Circus cast of characters are: the Dempsey brothers, David who was arrested for pepper spraying, and his brother Daniel, Joseph Cheng who is photographed with a huge can of pepper spray, Lisa Collins, Charles R Beltran, Leo Kelly, maybe Mike Chikey (the pervy photographer), Based Spartan and his daughter, Genevieve Peters, and Brandon Recor.

While we were administering first aid trying to flush people’s eyes out, we took one of the organizers to the paramedics and then the hospital to treat a possible broken or fractured arm. On the way to the hospital we had a good laugh and were joking that it was a couple of anarchists that were actually tending to the wounded and taking them to the hospital.

Regardless of what tendency you identify with on the Left you have to give it up to Refuse Fascism, they are committed and they go hard. We met really good people that day and are grateful we were able to help.
