Minnesota: Graffiti for the Anniversary of the Egypt Intifada

The following communique was sent anonymously to It’s Going Down which we reprint below.

It reads:

10 years ago today insurrection broke out in the streets of Cairo. It has been only months since insurrection scorched the streets of the occupied Dakota land called Minnesota.

Both an eternity ago, and yet sometimes it feels like yesterday. This is because time of revolt does not follow our conventional calendars—it erupts, irrupts, sh(r)edding linear time as we grip and are gripped by the messianic time of revolt.

This time within and against time, is what we continue glimpse here and there, here and everywhere, as we arrange our daily lives as practices of intifada. In Tahrir square or a Target parking lot, as much as in cafes or football stands.

As you clear this path, we are not far behind you, snow crunching beneath our boots, demanding as enacting the fall of every regime.

Love,
some revolutionary vandals.
