PDX Rad Movie Night Summer Blockbuster, They Live!

Bring your own bubblegum and your favorite pair of sunglasses, for a special screening of They Live!

This month we’ll be ringing out the summer with the 1988 anti-capitalist cult classic They Live. The screening will be taking place at 7PM on Thursday, September 6th at the Social Justice Action Center at 400 SE 12th Ave.

Portland wrestling legend Roddy Piper plays George Nada, a semi-homeless day laborer who discovers a pair of sunglasses that allow him to identify the extraterrestrials who have infiltrated the Earth’s populace. The aliens are part of the global (intergalactic) power elite, a group that has been stealing the Earth’s resources, buying off its leaders and exploiting the masses for their own personal gain. Nada quickly encounters Frank, and together they join the resistance movement in order to bring down the alien overlords.

PDX Rad Movie Night aims to create a space for people in the local radical community to come together on regular basis in a setting that isn’t a meeting or protest, and give them the chance to socialize and make connections in a low stress environment.
