Northern California Anti Racist Action (NoCARA) is pleased to announce and invite revolutionaries far and wide to attend and participate in the upcoming ROAR (Revolutionary Organizing Against Racism) CONFERENCE 2017!

ROAR is a two day conference organized by NoCARA, focused on revolutionary anti-racism, solidarity, and strategy, rooted in the legacy of anti-colonial, anti-fascist, anti-imperialist, feminist, and queer movements and fighters who have come before us.  ROAR will be a space to gather, build, and learn from each other’s struggles and continue to build an anti-racist front in the Bay Area and beyond.

The event will be held on both side sides of the Bay Area. Day one will be at the Omni Commons in Oakland. Day two will be held in San Francisco at the California Institute for Integral Studies.

We are accepting proposals from speakers, panelists, lecturers that can cover the following themes and topics at ROAR conference:

​Black Liberation/Black Power
Indigenous Struggles
Police Brutality
Community self-defense
Political Prisoners ​
Undocumented + Immigrant struggles
Muslim struggles
Black + Brown unity
Anti-Patriarchy, Transphobia + Homophobia
​​Anti-Racism for White people
​History Lessons from Movements past

***Presenters of color and gender non-conforming folks are encouraged to apply and will be prioritized***

About Us

Northern California Anti-Racist Action (NoCARA) emerged in response to increased white supremacist activity across Northern California in 2016, from Sacramento to the Bay Area. In organizing for the mobilization, crews of anti-fascists and anti-racists from all over Northern California were brought together to form NoCARA. Our website is www.nocara.blackblogs.org

1. Building a regional capacity for self-defense against fascism, patriarchy and white supremacy

2. Combating and contesting white nationalist, right-wing extremist and Neo-Nazi groups and their ideals, as well as the forces of structural white supremacy and patriarchy that these groups seek to defend and uphold

3. Creating a movement and culture of resistance that new people can come into and engage with, as we in turn build power and capacity for positive change within our own communities
