Submitted and translated to It’s Going Down

Urgent: Domingo Perez Alvaro was seriously assaulted. He belongs to the adherents of the Sixth of the Ejido San Sebastian Bachajon, participants in the National Indigenous Congress. Our Tseltal compañero has struggled together with his community to defend their territory against the bad government capitalists. He was taken when returning from a visit to the prisoners of Bachajón in Playas de Catazaja. We ask for your denunciation of this act and for the diffusion of this information because our compañero is in grave condition from the beatings:

“We inform you that today at approximately 4 pm, members of the group of the ejidal commissioner of San Sebastián Bachajon, Manuel Guzmán Álvaro, detained and physically assaulted our compañero Domingo Pérez Alvaro, when he was at the cross of Alan Sajcun traveling toward his home after carrying out work for the organization. He was visiting the compañero political prisoner Santiago Moreno Pérez at CERSS 17 of Playas de Catazaja, Chiapas.

The compañero Domingo Pérez Álvaro was left in serious condition after the beatings carried out by the people of the ejidal commission, for having participated in collective work in Bolom Ajaw and for participating in the Sixth of Bachajon.

The compañero Domingo Pérez Álvaro has participated since the foundation of the Sixth Bachajon, and has continually promoted human rights and particiapted in the National Indigenous Congress. He also participated in the recent 20th anniversary of the CNI.

We give this urgent word for your knowledge and to solicit your support for the diffusion of the information. We reject the action of the ejidal commissioner Manuel Guzmán Álvaro whom we hold responsible for the well being of our compañero Domingo Pérez Álvaro and for whatever other aggressions are carried out against the compañerxs of the Sixth Bachajon. We ask you to remain attentive for more information that we will make public.

We despise the actions of dispossession, which only confirm the agreements made with the bad government to enter the land of the ejido.

Combative salute!
