Solidarity Rally Outside Lucasville Prison to Mark 25th Anniversary of Uprising

The following report from Central Ohio Incarcerated Workers Organizing Committee (IWOC) details a solidarity rally to remember the 25th anniversary of the Lucasville Prison uprising.

Central Ohio IWOC coordinated a demonstration at Southern Ohio Correctional Facility (Lucasville Prison) yesterday in solidarity with the Lucasville 5 and to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the Lucasville Uprising.

The day also included community letter writing to prisoners, a free lunch, and public screenings of the documentaries Condemned and The Great Incarcerator: The Shadow of Lucasville.

Tomorrow a phone call-in campaign begins to support the survivors of the Lucasville Uprising, and other events have already taken place across the country.
