Thessaloniki, Greece: Solidarity With Standing Rock

A few days ago we raised a banner in solidarity with the Standing Rock struggle, in Thessaloniki (the 2nd biggest city in Greece).

A couple of miles from here, there’s a huge mining project under development, first of its kind in Greece. There has been an ongoing struggle by the anti-mining movement for some years now. 450 people have been prosecuted in the last 4 years. We have still got a long way to go, but we have really committed ourselves into this.

The following article is from our blog. We used information from IGD. It’s in greek, but it also contains some photos as well as a link to our twitter account.

While you’re here, we need your support. To continue running the website, we need support from community members like you. Will you support It’s Going Down, and help build independent media?...so donate?
