To the People of Mexico and the World that Resist

Today, June 12th, 2017, as people and community members of Santa Cruz Ayotuxco, we have organized ourselves, once again, to demand a halt to the works that are destroying our forests. We have made the decision to do this as many times as is necessary, because our determination in defense of life has grown. Furthermore, until now, the response from those of above has been to neglect their own legality, ignoring the definite suspension in our territory of the private highway Toluca-Naucalpan. In this way, they show their contempt toward us as Indigenous peoples.

We publicly report that those responsible for this occupation and destruction of our forest and territory are the Grupo Higa, through their business Autovan, and the government of the state of Mexico by means of their state and municipal police.

We recognize and know well the stubbornness that the Mexican State and the financial power have toward our peoples. We want to make it clear that their methods and strategies of destruction do not frighten us. On the contrary, our collective thought and heart grows and is made stronger through rebellion and resistance.

From our community, we want to call on our compañer@s in struggle, to the society in general and to the media, to be attentive to whatever act of intimidation and repression is carried out against our people or any compañer@.

We will not give up the mandate that our ancestors gave us. Our struggle has memory, our roots are our destiny, our struggle is for life and we will not allow our own disappearance.

The Otomí-Mexica Forest if not for sale! It is loved and defended!

For the integral reconstitution of our peoples!

Never more a Mexico without us!
