Construction began on the Bayou Bridge pipeline on January 23rd. NOW IS OUR TIME TO ACT!
Get Trained to Serve as a Louisiana Water Protector.
As a water protector, you will be trained to watch over the pipeline company’s actions. Whenever the company violates a permit, you will be able to identify and document the violation and report it to the appropriate regulatory agency as well as the media.
Volunteer pipeline monitoring by community members has been used effectively in many pipeline fights, including NoDAPL. We have created our training in collaboration with experienced monitors from around the country.
How do I Become a Water Protector?
Sign up to join or host a training session. Participants will learn about potential permit violations, how to identify them, and where and how to report them. Water protectors can play a vitally important role by holding Bayou Bridge Pipeline LLC accountable for its disregard for the health and safety of our communities.
Please consider signing up to host a training. You will only be responsible for coordinating a location and inviting people to come. We will provide materials and facilitation.
The details:
We want to hold training sessions in communities close to the pipeline route. These trainings will take place from February 17 – 24, at times TBD, and will last for approximately 3 hours.
Please sign up before February 2. We will follow up with more information by February 8. If you are not able to attend any of the potential dates, please indicate that in the form to the right and we will let you know as we plan additional trainings.
Now is our time to act. We will keep strong in the struggle to protect our waterways, wildlife, and environment from this destructive and unnecessary pipeline project.
