International Call For New Year’s Eve Noise Demonstrations

A international call for noise demonstrations outside of prisons, jails, detention facilities, and youth prisons. It’s Going Down will be compiling a list of events as they are announced.

This is a call for a raucous night of strong solidarity with those imprisoned by the state on one of the noisiest nights of the year. On New Year’s Eve gather your crew, collective, community, organization, or just yourself and come together to raise a racket and remind those on the inside that they are not alone.

Internationally, noise demonstrations outside of prisons are a way to remember those who are held captive by the state and a way to show solidarity with imprisoned comrades and loved ones. We come together to break the loneliness and isolation.

We know that prison is beyond reform and must be completely abolished. It is a mechanism of repression used by the state to maintain a social order rooted in white supremacy, patriarchy, and heteronormativity. To come together outside of the sites of repression is to also stand in defiance of what they represent.

The logic of the state and capital—of punishment and imprisonment, must be replaced by a rejection of oppression and exploitation. This call is one step in that direction.

Wherever you are, meet on New Year’s Eve at the prisons, jails, and detention centers, be loud in solidarity with those imprisoned and to push forward the idea of a world free from domination.

We send this call in solidarity with those defying state repression of large scale dissent: from the Yogyakarta prisoners in Indonesia to those in Russia facing repression as anarchist anti-state organizers, to all of those in the spaces between.

We want a world without walls and borders.

We will fight together until everyone is free!

Este es un llamado para una noche estridente en solidaridad con la gente que ha sido encarcelada por el estado en una de las noches más ruidosas del año. En la víspera de Año Nuevo, junta a tus amigxs, a tú comunidad, a tu familia o simplemente ven tú y únete para hacer ruido y recordarles a los que están adentro que no están solos.

A nivel internacional, las manifestaciones de ruido afuera de las cárceles son una forma de recordar a aquellos que están cautivos por el estado y una forma de mostrar solidaridad con nuestrxs camaradas y seres queridos que están tras las rejas. Nos unimos para romper la soledad y el aislamiento.

Sabemos que la prisión está más allá del reformismo y debe ser completamente abolida. Es un mecanismo de represión utilizado por el estado para mantener un orden social sustentado en la supremacía blanca, el patriarcado y la heteronormatividad. Reunirse afuera de éstos sitios de represión es también desafiar lo que representan.

La lógica del estado y el capital -del castigo y la prisión- debe ser reemplazada por un rechazo a la opresión y la explotación. Esta llamada es un paso hacia esa dirección.

Estés donde estés, reúnete en la víspera de Año Nuevo en las cárceles y centros de detención, alcemos nuestras voces en solidaridad con lxs encarceladxs e impulsa la idea de un mundo libre de dominación.

Enviamos este llamado en solidaridad con aquellos que desafían la represión estatal de la disidencia a gran escala: desde los prisionerios Yogyakarta ​​en Indonesia hasta los activistas anarquistas anti-Estado enfrentando represión en Rusia, así como a todxs aquellxs en medio del camino.

Pada Malam Tahun Baru mari organisir kru, kolektif, komunitas, organisasi atau hanya diri anda sendiri dan bersama-sama untuk membuat keributan dan mengingatkan kepada kamerad-kamerad di dalam penjara bahwa mereka tidak sendirian.

Secara internasional, demontrasi kebisingan di luar penjara adalah bentuk untuk mengingat mereka yang ditahan oleh Negara dan juga bentuk untuk menunjukkan solidaritas dengan kamerad-kamerad yang dipenjara dan orang-orang yang terkasih.
