Likhts’amisyu Clan Continues Land Reclamation at Parrot Lake

Report on ongoing Native land reclamation at Parrot Lake by the Likhts’amisyu Clan.

The Likhts’amisyu (FireWeed) Clan is one of 5 Wet’suwet’en Clans currently resisting colonial / capitalist violence on their territory. They have been engaged in this current “Energy Corridor” battle for over a decade, and while the colonial capitalist state employs every tactic at their disposal (mainly, division of the community through lies and financial incentives), the Hereditary Chiefs are resolute in their position of upholding Wet’suwet’en law and rejecting all pipeline projects that are forcing their way through their territory.

In this interview Smogelgem, who is the head chief of the Sun House of the Likhtsamisyu Clan, explains the significance of what they are engaged in out at Parrot Lake and in other territories on their 22 000 square Km land.

Much Love from all of us out here and a special Big Love to Ahmad Hachem for the original jams!
