May Day Caravans and Noise Demos Planned Throughout the US

With the coronavirus pandemic sweeping the world, this year groups and organizations across the US and beyond are organizing car caravans and noise demonstration which have been popularized over the last two months. These caravans will highlight many of the ongoing current struggles: from support for the rent strike, calling for the release of prisoners, and showing solidarity with striking workers.

If you looking for other ways to plug into May Day organizing, go to the 5 Demands website and check out their list of Rent Strike groups across the world and see what is happening in your area. Check out our interview with front line workers who are striking on May 1st and see if there pickets and actions happening in your area.

Lastly, if you don’t see your event listed below – let us know at info [at] itsgoingdown [dot] org.

In honor of May Day, ROAR will be holding a special food drive at our Mutual Aid Hub in Marshall to celebrate the spirit of solidarity we've seen spread across the community in the past weeks. We'll be accepting non-perishables, frozen meat, cheese, eggs, cleaning supplies, diapers, trash bags, toilet paper. Your old paper and plastic grocery bags are welcome too. We are located by the Madison Cooperative Extension Agency 258 Carolina Ln. Marshall, we are in the outbuilding at the far end of the parking lot by the greenhouse. Let's come together in the ways we can to support our community and help each other get through this hard time. #strongertogether Need Food? Our Mutual Aid Hub is open for food pick up on Saturdays from 12-2pm. No applications or forms to fill out, just come get some food. If you cannot leave the house and need food delivered you can call 615-628-7439.
