On this episode of the It’s Going Down podcast, we speak with journalist and author Shane Burley both about their new book, Why We Fight: Essays on Fascism, Resistance, and Surviving the Apocalypse, as well as on the current crisis playing itself within the Republican party and within ruling class circles in the US in general.
During our discussion, we talk about the current struggle for power between neo-con and Trumpian forces within the Republicans and what this means both for the State itself and for other forces both inside and outside of it. We then discuss elements of Burley’s book, including the future of GOP and far-Right crossover, key lessons and take-ways from the rebellion that kicked off last summer, and how autonomous movements can continue to grow in the current terrain.
