The Resistance Introduces Arkansas Rising

From Earth First! Newswire

Last Monday Arkansas Rising launched their civil disobedience campaign against the Diamond Pipeline, which is another crude oil pipeline starting in Cushing, Oklahoma and ends crossing the Mississippi River in Memphis, Tennessee. The weekend prior to deployment, Mississippi Stand, a NVDA caravan against DAPL, came to give an intensive Nonviolent Direct Action Training to help comrades in the fight against the Diamond Pipeline Black Snake. Diamond Pipeline has already finished boring under the Mississippi River and recently began its desecration on the St. Francis River in Arkansas. Arkansas Rising deployed two water guardians in a lockdown against the drilling process on the St. Francis last Monday, effectively shutting down construction that morning. Efforts are collective, nonviolent, and effective. Arkansas Rising is calling on other NVDA comrades to join them to help shut down the Pipeline while it is still in its early stages. The Pipeline company, based out of Texas, said they will work with Police to stop these efforts but the guardians are undeterred in their call to action to stop this Black Snake.

The ability to organize collectively, effectively, and quickly will prove paramount in the battles we face ahead. Mississippi Standers reached out to the network of resistance on Facebook against the Diamond Pipeline and within minutes were offered places to camp and hold trainings. Days later an intensive, nonviolent direct action training took place in Arkansas and Monday Arkansas Rising took its first stand against the Diamond Pipeline. Answering fellow comrades calls for help and to action will let this fire burn and glow brightly as we dismantle the system that works against liberty, life, and pursuit of happiness.

The frontlines against the imperialist extraction industry are everywhere and Standing Rock has inspired us all to answer the call to defend our Mother and safeguard a home for our children’s children.
