On the day of the Great American Eclipse, a convoy of over 10 cars holding 40+ water protectors arrived at the site of Line 3 in Wisconsin, near the Minnesota boarder. The goal was to stop construction of the over $10 billion dollar oil pipeline, which will carry tar sands from Canada into the states, refined here, then eventually shipped out of country.
After the water protectors peacefully asked the construction workers to leave, three people locked down to heavy equipment. The police closed down the work sight for 24 hours, and let everyone leave without arrests. Later in the week during a similar action police arrested six people.
