This Is America #172: Fight Against ‘Cop City’ Continues; Countering ‘Straight Pride’ in Modesto; Analysis of FBI Raid on Trump

Welcome, to This Is America, August 18th, 2022.

On this episode we continue our discussion with a forest defender on the growing movement and fight to defend the Atlanta forest against the construction of Cop City. We discuss the recent week of action, repression, how the struggle is pulling in a wide range of people, movement infrastructure, and much more.

We then speak with someone about the call to counter the so-called “Straight Pride” rally in Modesto, California, which brings together far-Right street gangs like the Proud Boys and Christian nationalist groups under a white nationalist, anti-LGBTQ, anti-reproductive freedom banner. Finally, we switch to our discussion, where we both switch up our format and talk about a variety of news headlines, some funny stories, and then give into an analysis of the recent FBI raid on Mar-a-Lago.
