This Week in Fascism #105: “America First” GOP Caucus Promotes Whites Only Politics, NSM Floops in Phoenix, “Lifetime Member” of Oath Keepers Turns Snitch

Welcome fellow antifascists!

What a week! We’ve got some major news stories, from House GOP members pushing white nationalist talking points though an “American First” caucus as Tucker Carlson doubles down on the “Great Replacement” conspiracy theory. Meanwhile, a neo-Nazi rally goes up in smoke in Phoenix, cops are caught giving money to Kyle Rittenhouse and other far-Right figures, a “Lifetime Member” of the Oath Keepers is turning snitch on his fellow militia members, and much more!

With so much to cover, let’s dive in!

News

Trumpian House GOP Members Create “America First” Caucus Around “Anglo-Saxon” Traditions

Last week, the story broke that everyone’s favorite Qanon fan and advocate for murdering ‘ANTIFA,’ Majore Taylore Greene, along with Paul Gosar, who most recently spoke at the white nationalist AFPAC conference alongside Unite the Right marcher and holocaust denier Nick Fuentes, were forming an “America First” caucus based around “Anglo-Saxxon political traditions.” Matt Gaetz has also tweeted his support for the caucus. As backlash built around the caucus, both Greene and Gosar attempted to distance themselves from the group and its racialized language.

The American First caucus statement is filled with white nationalist talking points: that the US is not a country build around ideas, or a set of binding documents, but instead one defined along racial lines that are specifically European, or “Anglo-Saxxon.” Moreover, like the Alt-Right has argued for years, it claims that the changes made to the immigration system in 1965, which allowed more non-white immigration into the country, have been a disaster for the United States.

As the Washington Post wrote:

The document calls to suspend all immigration, saying such pauses are “absolutely essential in assimilating the new arrivals and weeding out those who could not or refused to abandon their old loyalties and plunge head-first into mainstream American society.”

Such statements mirror those of racist paleoconservatives like Gavin McInnes, who stated:

I love being white and I think it’s something to be very proud of. I don’t want our culture diluted. We need to close the borders now and let everyone assimilate to a Western, white, English-speaking way of life.

Neo-Nazis Praise Tucker Carlson for “Great Replacement” Rant

According to Chistopher Mathias for the Huffington Post, white supremacists have praised Fox News host Tucker Carlson for an ethno-nationalist rant made last week on his show, in which he promoted the “great replacement” theory and accused the Democrats of trying to “replace the current electorate…with new people, more obedient voters from the Third World” who have “absolute contempt for our customs, our laws, our system.” Earlier this week Carlson doubled down, stating that “Demographic change is the key to the Democratic party’s political ambitions,” and that “Democrats plan to change the population of the country” to gain political power.

While the theory of “white genocide” was popularized in the U.S. by neo-Nazi David Lane, the belief that Jews are deliberately orchestrating racial demographic changes in order to damage the existing culture can be traced back to pre-WWII Europe, through conspiracies like the “Elders of Zion.” Mathais notes that the “great replacement” theory has also inspired several horrific acts of violence, including the mass shootings in Pittsburgh, El Paso, and New Zealand, as well as the deadly Unite the Right Rally, where the Nazis in attendance chanted “Jews will not replace us.”

Antisemitic conspiracy theorist Kevin MacDonald praised Carlson’s segment on Twitter writing, “Doesn’t explicitly mention Whites but obviously implied.” Holocaust denier and Groyper leader Nick Fuentes celebrated that Carlson had “redpilled 4 million people,” specifically lauding the host’s covertly antisemitic attacks on Israel and the ADL. Mike Peinovich, who co-hosts the neo-Nazi podcast the Daily Shoah under the pseudonym Mike Enoch, also praised the segment, calling it a “breakthrough.” A eugenicist named Steve Sailer also published an article on the ethno-nationalist website VDare celebrating Tucker’s widening of the Overton window.

Angelo Carusone of Media Matters fears that Carlson’s endorsement of racist, fascist concepts could lead to even greater violence. He states, “[T]he inevitable end in all of this is what Carlson has been talking about for quite some time, which is a race war. That’s what this guy wants. It’s what he advocates for. It’s what he believes.”

Phoenix National Socialist Movement (NSM) Rally Flops Horribly; NSM Leader Arrested

Only a little over a dozen members of the National Socialist Movement (NSM) attempted to hold a march and rally in a Phoenix, AZ park, where they “accosted a group Black men sitting at picnic tables and taunted them with racial slurs.” The attempted rally was short lived, as locals and antifascists yelled and jeered at the neo-Nazis until they left.

Seems things for the NSM only got worse following the rally. On Monday, as Reuters reported:

Burt Colucci, commander of one of the United States’ oldest white supremacist groups, was arrested on Monday in a Phoenix suburb for pointing a loaded handgun at a Black man and threatening to kill him and his friends, according to police records.

The altercation began outside a hotel in Chandler, Arizona, after Colucci placed trash on the car of the African Americans and used racial slurs against them, according to statements police collected from Colucci, the Black people and an independent witness. Only Colucci was identified in the police report that was made public.

According to the police report, Colucci said he had merely brought his semi-automatic pistol into a “low ready” position, but the Black individuals said he had aimed it at them and threatened to kill them, and the witness said she had seen Colucci point the gun at the men. None of the parties knew one another, according to the report.

A Maricopa County superior court judge set Colucci’s bond at $7,500 on Tuesday and permitted him to travel to his home state of Florida, but said he must return to Maricopa County no later than April 25 for his next hearing, according to court records. If convicted, Colucci faces at least three years in prison.

The NSM has been hyping their “national” rally for months, on their podcast and on white nationalist websites like Stormfront. Following the rally, posters on Stormfront openly mocked the NSM for the low turnout and the embarrassing media coverage.

Raleigh White Lives Matter Organizer Rebrands Group Into National Socialist Organization

The organizer of last week’s failed White Lives Matter rally in Raleigh, NC has rebranded the Telegram channel for the event to “American Union Fascist.” The Telegram user, who goes by the name “Bolts,” renamed the channel upon cancelling the original White Lives Matter event when it came to light that antifascist opposition posed a threat. Bolts announced that the group would become an open national socialist and fascist movement. Raw Story quotes from Bolts’ Telegram post:

“We are no longer going to be afraid to spread truth and hold space in public areas. We will start slow. We will gain support online and through propaganda runs in major cities around the state. We will have in-person private meetings to get to know one another, share ideas and push us to the future. Then, when we are secure and have enough support, we will march. We will take the streets back from the degenerates.”

This new fascist group is particularly concerned with optics, though not all members are in agreement on how to conceal their genocidal views from the public while also building support for their efforts. Bolts stated, “But when we are out there in public, what we don’t want to be doing is calling people n*****s, we don’t want to be talking about the hook-nose Jew. The key to success here is above-ground fascist movement.”

In voice chats, Bolts stated that he had recently joined the Virginia Army National Guard. He identified his occupational specialty as 13-B, part of an artillery unit. He also revealed that he had attended the Unite the Right 2 rally in D.C. in 2018. His social media posts show that he began posting about a coming civil war during the 2020 uprisings following George Floyd’s murder, and he encouraged other white nationalists to show up at protests to defend confederate monuments. In posts from the summer of 2020, Bolts praised Hitler and George Lincoln Rockwell.

Thanks to antifascist organizers and researchers, the vast majority of White Lives Matter rallies planned for last week were failures. We must stay vigilant and continue to disrupt fascist organizing spaces both in person and on social media to prevent groups like these from gaining traction.

Active-Duty Cops are Training Oath Keepers, According to Militia Leader

In an interview with 60 Minutes on Sunday night, Oath Keepers leader Jim Arroyo stated that active-duty police officers are providing training to the militia. He claimed that Oath Keepers members are “very experienced” and can “blend in” with law enforcement thanks to this training. Arroyo also stated that his Arizona chapter of the organization had broken with the national organization which is led by Stewart Rhodes following the attempted pro-Trump coup.

Writing for Raw Story, Sarah K. Burris notes that according to reports by Mike German, federal and local law enforcement agencies have failed to crack down on white supremacist extremism in their ranks, and that far-Right militias investigated by the FBI are often found to have ties to police. The contradictions between far-Right militias and the forces of the State seem especially heightened since the January 6th siege on the Capitol, where several Oath Keepers were among the first to break through police lines and storm the building.

GiveSendGo Breach Reveals US Authorities Donated to Rittenhouse

Christian fundraising website GiveSendGo, which has been ground zero for far-right fundraising efforts, recently experienced a major data leak. The information, which was shared with journalists by transparency group Distributed Denial of Secrets, indicates that many members of law enforcement and local government workers used their work email addresses to provide donations to different fundraisers hosted by GiveSendGo, including the legal defense fund for Kenosha shooter Kyle Rittenhouse. Rittenhouse, then 17, traveled from Antioch, IL with an AR-15 to Kenosha, WI to defend local businesses from looters during protests against police violence and the police shooting of Jacob Blake. Rittenhouse shot and killed two leftists protesters and injured another. He is currently awaiting trial. Thanks to GiveSendGo and the leaked data from DDOS, Rittenhouse was able to raise $586,940.

According to The Guardian, who obtained the leaked data, many donors to the Rittenhouse defense fund used emails associated with their places of employment which included law enforcement and government workers. The Guardian reports donors from Norfolk Police Department in Virginia, the city of Huntsville, Alabama, Green Bay, Wisconsin police, Pleasant Prairie, Wisconsin police department, city employees from Houston, Texas, and others. A notable donation was also made from Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, a laboratory that is in charge of maintaining the US nuclear weapons stockpile. The Guardian reports:

“…$100 was associated with the official address of Michael Crosley, an engineer at the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory…” Lynda Seaver, director of public affairs at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, wrote in an email that Michael Crosley had made “an honest mistake”, and had “never intended to use his Lab email on this matter.”

Certainly more names are likely to come to light, and this serves as yet another glaring example of far-Right politics and ideology being embedded in law enforcement and members of public office.

Five More Members of Neo-Nazi Accelerationist Group ‘The Base’ Indicted for Stealing and Killing Ram

Five more members of neo-Nazi accelerationist group, The Base have been indicted on animal cruelty charges stemming from a paramilitary training camp that took place in northern Georgia in October of 2019. According to the Rome News-Tribune:

Patrik Mathews, William Garfield Bilbrough IV, Brian Mark Lemley Jr., Brandon Gregory Ashley and Duncan Christopher Trimmel face aggravated animal cruelty and theft charges in Floyd County Superior Court.

These five join other members, Luke Lane, Michael Helterbrand and Jacob Kaderli, who were arrested after plotting to kill an antifascist couple. The group used Lane’s family’s property to conduct paramilitary training throughout 2019. During one of several meetups at the Lane property, prosecutors indicate that the group stole a ram and attempted to cut its head off with a knife as part of a pagan ritual. When they were unable to do so, they shot and beheaded it. The group then posed for a picture obtained The Guardian with the rams head front and center.

The five most recently charged are not said to be connected to the murder plot. For a more thorough breakdown of all the members of The Base who have been indicted, check out this thread by Atlanta Antifascists.

Snitches: Founding Oath Keeper Member Jon Schaffer Pleads Guilty to White Riot Felony Charges in Exchange for Cooperation

Founding member of the Oath Keepers militia, Jon Schaffer is the first person to plead guilty for his part in the January 6th White Riot. According to the Washington Post, Schaffer agreed to plead guilty in exchange for a lighter sentence under the condition that he would be providing full cooperation and information on the Oath Keeper’s involvement in planning the siege on the Capitol. So far, over 400 people have been arrested for their participation in the the January 6th event. Schaffer’s cooperation could lead to hundreds more arrests and will likely be crippling for both the far-Right, pro-Trump street gang The Proud Boys, as well as the Oath Keepers.

According to the criminal complaint, Schaffer was originally charged with six crimes:

  • Knowingly Entering or Remaining in any Restricted Building or Grounds Without Lawful Authority
  • Disrupting the Orderly Conduct of Government Business
  • Knowingly Engages in an Act of Physical Violence Against Any Person or Property in any Restricted Building or Grounds
  • Violent Entry and Disorderly Conduct in a Capitol Building
  • Engage in an Act of Physical Violence in a Capitol Building
  • Parade, Demonstrate, or Picket in a Capitol Building

As part of his plea agreement, Schaffer agreed to pleaded guilty to two charges – obstruction of an official proceeding of Congress, and trespassing on restricted ground of the Capitol while armed with a deadly or dangerous weapon. Both are felony offenses and Schaffer could face up to a combined 30 years should the judge make that determination. According to the Washington Post:

Under terms of the plea deal signed by Schaffer and his attorney, Marc Victor, he faces a recommended prison term of 41 to 51 months under nonbinding federal guidelines, though his sentence will ultimately be decided by a judge…

The agreement spells out that Schaffer is cooperating, which means his sentence could be cut further if he proves valuable to the ongoing investigation of any other rioters or conspirators. Prosecutors offered to recommend leniency for his full and substantial cooperation, but also made clear Schaffer could be charged with other crimes of violence if they learn of them.

Since the news of Schaffer’s plea broke, Indiana Oath Keepers began distancing themselves from him stating, “He is not an active member.” Schaffer, on January 6th, was seen wearing a hat with the words “Oath Keeper Lifetime Member,” but the Indiana-based chapter indicates that Oath Keeper’s founder Stewart Rhodes gives that label to certain members for publicity purposes. It is unclear at this time how much Schaffer knows or the degree of his involvement. Based on the plea agreement combined with the excitement and pride of FBI investigators, it’s easy to assume that Schaffer knows enough to shed serious light on the planning and execution of the White Riot.

Doxxes

Brandon Keith Langham, Veronica Langham, Nazi Podcasters from Jacksonville, FL

The Anonymous Comrades Collective, Partisan 161, and Utah161 have identified Brandon Keith Langham and his wife Veronica of Jacksonville, FL. Since getting his start as an online personality in the “manosphere” and Gamergate communities, Langham now hosts the podcast Illusion Radio and runs the Nazi blog “Illusion of Sanity” under the pseudonym “Doctor Illusion.” In one blog post, Langham outs himself as a fascist and white supremacist, closing the essay with the phrase “Heil Hitler!” His social media posts are viciously racist and anti-Semitic. Tweets from a previously anonymous alias show the podcaster expressing his hope that a Black person would get lynched and stating that Jewish people should be run over by cars.

Veronica Langham, also known as Lady Misogyny, is also an active white nationalist and assists Brandon with the production of his podcast. She just as racist and antisemitic as her husband, and professes to be even “more of a misogynist that he is.” Langham met Veronica when she was 16 and he was 22, a fact made even more disturbing by his multiple posts about sexual attraction to teenagers, and statements alleging that spousal rape does not exist. He also has an extensive criminal history. Langham states, “I’ve been arrested for murder, rape, multiple driving under the influence charges, over 25 moving violations, multiple charges related to public intoxication.” One Youtube video unearthed by Anonymous Comrades Collective shows Langham demonstrating how he would shoot federal agents and police in the event of a raid.

Cameron Murphy, “Illusion Radio” Co-Founder of Houston, TX

Brandon Langham’s associate Cameron Murphy was the original co-host of the Illusion Radio podcast. A fellow veteran of the “manosphere,” Murphy is predictable misogynistic and bigoted. According to his LinkedIn page, he works for Gamble Guest Care Health & Rehab in Dallas, TX, and resides in Houston. More information on Cameron Murphy can be found in the thread by Anonymous Commie linked above.

Joel W. Campbell, Proud Boy City Council Candidate of Topeka, KS

Joel W. Campbell is a candidate for Topeka City Council who also happens to be a third degree Proud Boy. Although Campbell claims to have left the fascist group following the January 6th Capitol siege, he has kept the phrase “third degree” in his social media bios and has not taken any steps to distance himself from the group. Campbell was recently investigated by local authorities after he published a Youtube video tying Governor Laura Kelly to the Pizzagate conspiracy and stating that the official “needed to be put down.”

Midwest Youth Liberation Front tracked down Campbell’s Telegram account, @Godemperor9, and the activity on this account further disproves that Campbell is no longer affiliated with the Proud Boys. He has continued to interact with Proud Boys and their content, expressed interest in buying more of the group’s merchandise, and has continued to use the phrase “POYB.” He has used this account to defend the Proud Boys’ actions on January 6th and claims to have spoken personally with chairman Enrique Tarrio. The Telegram account also shows that Campbell is a fan of neo-Nazi Youtuber Styxenhammer666, white nationalist “race realist” Stephan Molyneux, and far-Right racist troll Milo Yiannopoulos. Campbell also hosts a podcast called “Beard of Truth,” where he spreads QAnon-related conspiracy theories and bigotry.

Midwest YLF asks that antifascists watch out for fascists running for local office in order to infiltrate government and gain ground and legitimacy. The full report on Campbell can be viewed here, and more information can be read in the Twitter thread above.

Nathan Entrekin, Pro-Trump Capitol Rioter, of Cottonwood, AZ

Antifa Trash Panda reports that they have identified one of the attendees of the January 6th riot as Nathan Entrekin of Cottonwood, AZ. Entrekin was interviewed by a livestreamer outside of the Capitol on January 6th, where he called himself “Captain Moroni” and announced that he was there to represent Mormonism. Video footage from the day of the coup attempt shows him walking around the rotunda of the Capitol wearing a historical costume and waving a flag painted with text.

For more information, check out Antifa Trash Panda’s Twitter thread here.

Patrick Kiehl, Placerville Proud Boys Leader Exposed

Antifa Sacramento reports:

Patrick George Kiehl is the president of the Placerville “Hangtown” Proud Boys. He owns Liberty Handyman LLC, and currently lives in Pollock Pines with his wife Bonnie Mae. He was also active in the NorCal punk/hardcore music scene in the early 2000’s. Kiehl has been involved with Proud Boys in the Northern California area since at least 2018, and has been connected to numerous far-right extremist actions and events since then.

Kiehl has been heavily involved in violent brawls and far-Right street actions up and down the West Coast and in the Sacramento area in particular. For more information and background, see the well researched and sourced article by Antifa Sacramento.
