On this special episode of the It’s Going Down podcast, we host a round table discussion featuring essential workers who are planning May Day strike actions this Friday. Our guests include workers from Amazon, Whole Foods, Instacart, and Shipt. We discuss how the coronavirus crisis has played out in each workplace and how corporations have pushed workers head first into danger while they have watched their profits soar.
We also touch the recent wave of post-pandemic strike action, and how corporations have responded by firing organizers, weaponized social media and technology, and used outright repression against rank-n-file activity. Finally we talk about the strikes being planned on May 1st and how the public can stand in solidarity – and fight to expand it into all avenues of daily life.
