Anarchist Prisoner Jorge “Yorch” Esquivel Transferred, Appeal Denied

Letter from anarchist prisoner Jorge “Yorch” Esquivel following his recent transfer and the denial of his appeal.

Hey compas. How´s everything? I’m adjusting to the new system here in the Reclusorio Sur. On the one hand it is a little bit better than the prison I was at before, the Reclusorio Oriente. Here there are less people and because of that it is a lot calmer. There is less opportunity to generate money but it is cleaner so I feel better here.

As you all already know, my appeal was recently denied and my sentence was confirmed. Now we will have to try another appeal with the writ of amparo and hopefully this time we receive a more favorable result.

Thanks to all the compas for the economic support and the letters. I really enjoy reading them. Thanks to the compas at Calpupan for the seeds that they sent me. They will be very useful as I am thinking about planting a small garden to occupy my time here.

Also, a big hug to the compas of the Anarcopunk Space. Thanks for the support. Also, to the compas in Veracruz, thanks for everything,

I hope you all can continue supporting me providing political pressure to accompany the writ of amparo so that I can leave this terrible place.

Also, I encourage everyone to buy tickets for the raffle in solidarity with Miguel Peralta and to share information about his case (tickets can be purchased here).

For those who want to support me by buying my artwork, it is available at the Clandestina in Mexico City. Or if you want to donate other stuff, like materials to make art–threads, beads, or other materials–they can be dropped off there as well.

Sincerely,

El Yorch

P.S. Happy birthday to Magda! A big hug!

Greetings to Anarkoneja. I hope that you get better soon. She has always shown her solidarity with prisoners and now she needs our support. Go to the show that is being organized to raise funds for her health. The show is on the 15th.
