This morning, three-stories-high above Ann Arbor’s Nickels Arcade across from the University of Michigan’s Diag – one of the most heavily trafficked intersections in this college town – a big banner unfurled to welcome in the #WeekOfSolidarity for the #J20Defendants. It also comes on the first day of the enormous Ann Arbor Art Fair, which draws thousands of people to this downtown.
Word on the street is: this banner was dreamed up, made, and dropped by high school rebels, entirely of their own initiative! Extra beautiful solidarity for the over 200 people facing 75 years in prison from felonies arising out of state repression directed toward the anti-capitalist wing of the protests at Trump’s inauguration.
