Defend Denver against “National March Against Sharia”

“National March Against Sharia,” as organized by Act for America and promoted by the Proud Boys and other white supremacist/Alt Right organizations, seeks to target Muslim communities (all of which have been deemed by Act for America founder, Brigitte Gabriel, as “cancerous” and “radical”) and inflict terror based off of the false and inane assumption that somehow Sharia law will take over the United States.

Of course, we know this to be false, and that this assumption comes from misconceptions and fear with regards to the faith of Islam. Nonetheless, anti-Muslim rhetoric and action will be taking place around the world on June 10th, and on the footsteps of the Denver Capitol as well. The Proud Boys and other white supremacist organizations are manipulating this national event into being blatantly anti-Islam and anti-Muslim, and are using it as an opportunity to perpetuate their hate-filled agendas.

We cannot let this happen. We are calling for all pro-Muslim supporters to come to the Capitol and counter protest. We cannot let such hate speak be put into motion. Whether you are antifa or just a concerned community member, we are asking for your support and your help to defend our Muslim brothers and sisters.

As previously mentioned, this “National March Against Sharia” has been promoted by the Proud Boys, and Denver has been advertised specifically. This means that there should be a large sum of anti-Muslim and Islamophobic persons there. Even if there is not, however, it is a good opportunity to show our state that we will not put up with any more anti-Muslim sentiments from our community members and that we will not be silenced in our efforts to dismantle these platforms of oppression. Please join us on June 10th at 3:00pm on the steps of the Denver Capitol.
