In the early morning hours of September 13th, five different banners were dropped over I-85 and Hwy 147 in so-called Durham, North Carolina in solidarity with Jailhouse Lawyers Speak and the “Alabama to DC: End Prison Slavery” mobilization taking place in Washington, DC next week.
Last week, JWS called for local community groups to mobilize on the 13th to highlight the demands of the 2018 national prison strike.
We hope that these banners will be one, small part of mounting resistance to prison slavery across the so-called US this week, amplifying the voices of incarcerated rebels and building towards organized struggle inside and outside the walls for an end to prisons and the whole filthy rotten society that needs them.
