Call for a phone-zap campaign in solidarity with the struggle to stop the Turkish invasion of Rojava.
On October 12th, a day of solidarity for the Kurdish people, please call the Double Tree hotel in Englewood, CO at (303) 779-6161 regarding their 10/26 hosting of a pro-Erdogan, “Ball for the Republic.” If it is not cancelled, WE PICKET.
A suggested script for calling the DoubleTree hotel on 10/12 during our Phone Zap, regarding the hosting of a “Ball for the Turkish Republic” on 10/26:
“Hi there, it’s my understanding that the Turkish-American Culutural Society of Colorado has reserved your ballroom to host an event commemorating the Republic of Turkey. In light of the recent invasion of Kurdish territory in Northern Syria by the Turkish military, we are respectfully requesting that if the Cultural Society doesn’t publicly denounce the unlawful aggression by their country, they cancel their event. The Cultural Society has been contacted and has thus ignored our requests. If the event isn’t cancelled, we will be organizing a picket outside of the venue, and making sure both attendees of the ball and hotel guests are aware that we will not be silent in the face of Turkish imperialist aggression. Thank you for your time, have a wonderful day.”
