Indy: Solidarity demonstration with the anarchists in Mexico

On July 3rd, there was a solidarity demonstration against repression in Mexico, organized against the Mexican Consulate in Indianapolis, USA.

On June 16, 2015, the Anarchist Black Cross-Mexico, an anti-repression organization, released word describing an escalation of the harassment and surveillance they experience at the hands of the Mexican state.

This is just the latest clamp down doled out by the Mexican government:

• In September of 2014, 43 student rebels from a rural teachers college in Guerrero who were involved in educational protests were disappeared, likely by local law enforcement and crime syndicates. Demonstrations in response to the kidnappings have been met with continued violence by the police. Nearly a year later, only one of the bodies has been found.
• At the beginning of June 2015, a militant teacher, Juan Villegas Tenorio, was beaten to death by police during a protest. Two other teachers at the event were beaten by police but survived.
• An increasing number of revolutionaries are facing long prison sentences, including Abraham Cortes, who was recently sentenced to 5 years and 9 months. Other anarchist prisoners currently facing extreme prison sentences include Fernando Barcenas and Fernando Sotelo.
• A new hunger strike has been announced in the prisons around Mexico City. The primary demand in this hunger strike is the end of torture in the prisons.
• Since the beginning of June, protests have erupted across Mexico, including a demonstration by 6,000 teachers at the city center in Oaxaca. These protests call for a boycott of the elections:
  “To Vote Is To Lie.”

With all this repressive violence, the Mexican state hopes to control popular rage, but it’s only succeeding in spreading resistance. We are here at the Mexican consulate today to call attention to these struggles, and to express our solidarity with these diverse rebels, and others who suffer at the hands of the state. We hope this is a small step toward spreading these rebellions.

En el 3 de julio, hubo un manifestacion de solidaridad al consulado mexicano en Indianapolis (EEUU) contra la represión en Mexico.

El 16 de junio 2015, la Cruz Negra Anarquista de México, una organización anti-represiva, comunicó una intensificación de vigilancia y molestias del Estado de México.

Esto es lo último en la represión por las manos del gobierno de México:

• En Septiembre de 2014, 43 estudiantes rebeldes de una universidad rural de profesores en Guerrero quien estaban involucradxs con manifestaciones educativas fueron desaparecidos, por cierto de policía local y mafiosos. Manifestaciones en respuesta a las secuestros han sufrido ataques violentas de la policía. Casi un año después, solo un cuerpo ha sido encontrado.
• Al principio de junio 2015, un profesor militante, Juan Villegas Tenorio, fue golpeado a muerte por policía durante una manifestación. Dos profesores más fueron golpeado pero sobrevivieron.
• Un numero creciente numero de revolucionarixs con condenas de larga duración, incluyendo Abraham Crotes, quien recientemente fue condenada a 5 años y 9 meses. Otras presxs anarquistas con condenas extremas son Fernando Barcenas y Fernando Sotelo.
• Hay una nueva huelga de hambre en las prisiones cerca de la Ciudad de Mexico (D.F.) La demanda primaria de la huelga es un acabo a la tortura en las prisiones.
• Desde el principio de junio, manifestaciones estallaron de furia por todo Mexico, incluso una protesta de 6.000 profesores en el centro de Oaxaca. Estas manifestaciones piden un boicot de las eleciones: “Votar es Mentir”

El estado de Mexico espera que con toda la represión violenta, pueda controlar a la rabia popular, pero solo lograr propagar resistencia. Hoy, estamos aquí en el consulado de Mexico para llamar atención a estas luchas, y para expresar nuestra solidaridad con los rebeldes diversxs y otrxs quienes sufren a las manos del estado. Esperamos que sea un paso pequeño hacia la difusión de esas rebeliones.
