A small group of students scaled the palm trees of Stanford to drop a May Day banner in solidarity with workers and students across the world. Many undergrads and graduate students hit the streets on May Day to stand with workers fighting for dignity in the Bay Area.
We refuse to accept the university’s invitations to process our grievances through their official channels. We see how they ignore sexual violence and economic injustice, and know the only thing they care about is PR. The way to change Stanford and it’s far reaching influence is through student power. They have a 22 billion dollar endowment (and a restrictive banner policy), but we have each other and we will win.
