Report on ongoing State repression in Oaxaca.
Today July 17th , at approximately 11:30 am, masked and heavily armed men, dressed in military gear, broke into the house of compañero Abraham Hernández Gonzalez, located in the community of Salchi, San Pedro Pochutla, Oaxaca. They violently removed the compañero from his house, loading him into a grey truck with license plate number RH-70-92, accompanied by motorcycles.
From the moment he was taken, various police forces were informed while none of them carried out any effort to locate the compañero. After about five hours, he was found dead near the same community from which he was taken. We hold the government of Alejandro Murat directly responsible for the kidnapping and assassination of compañero Abraham Hernández, who played an important role as local coordinator in the community. The lack of interest on part of the government to try to resolve such cases makes evident their complicity with the criminal groups that operate in the region and state, allowing them to act freely at all hours of the day. It also shows the farce of the operation “safe beach”, when it is in this area where the insecurity is most evident. With the return of the PRI party to power in the state of Oaxaca, the insecurity has worsened because as we know well, they work hand in hand with narco-traffickers.
We demand justice and punishment to those responsible for the assassination of compañero Abraham Hernández. We also demand justice for our three compañeros assassinated this past February 12th. Until now, the state government has not shown any advances in their cases and those responsible for these crimes remain free.
We call on the social organizations to unite in this demand for justice of the assassinated compañeros of CODEDI and for all of the social fighters and defenders of human rights who live beneath constant threat.
END THE AGGRESSIONS AGAINST CODEDI!
JUSTICE FOR OUR ASSASINATED COMPAÑEROS!
