This Thursday April, 26th at 7 PM we will be holding the second installment of the monthly radical movie series PDX Rad Movie Night at the Social Justice Action Center at 400 SE 12th Ave.
PDX Rad Movie Night aims to create a space for people in the local radical community to come together on regular basis in a setting that isn’t a meeting or protest, and give them the chance to socialize and make connections in a low stress environment. The first part of the event will be social time for folks to network and talk to people involved in radical community projects.
This month we will be showing the latest episode of Submedia’s series Trouble titled Destroying Domination. This episode takes a look at patriarchy as an enduring system of social, economic and political control, and shares stories from some of the front-line struggles being waged by women around the world – from Indigenous communities fighting against the colonial dispossession of their lands, to the challenges faced by migrants forced from their homes by economic inequality, climate change, and war. A discussion of the topics of the film will happen after the screening.
