Hello friends, we are excited to announce our first podcast! Join the Revolutionary Organizing Against Racism (ROAR) collective for an interview with Zoé Samudzi, medical sociology Ph.D candidate and co-author of As Black As Resistance: Finding the Conditions for Liberation, while we discuss how the COVID-19 pandemic is disproportionately affecting the black community. We touch on the history of medicine and the black body, as well as how this relationship reflects power in our society.

On behalf of the Bay Area Anarchist Book Fair and the Revolutionary Organizing Against Racism Conference, we sadly must announce the postponement of our joint event that was to take place on April 25, 2020. Due to the outbreak of the COVID-19 virus in the Bay Area and the growing number of cases, it would be irresponsible of us as organizers to ask people to gather in such large numbers hoping not to spread the virus to our comrades and loved ones. We continue to be inspired by people all around the world who are seizing this urgent moment to extend the principles of solidarity and mutual aid into the most vulnerable sectors of society that capitalism and the state have always forgotten and exploited. It is in this vein that we would like to adapt to the current moment and offer podcast interviews of different mutual aid projects around the world in order in educate and inspire to action those of us who are concerned with revolutionary solutions to the crisis of capitalism. We hope to reschedule the original event to Fall 2020 in September or October. As the situation evolves in the coming months, we will have a better idea of a specific date. Stay tuned in the weeks to come as we roll out a compilation of interviews with mutual aid projects from all over the country and updates from international comrades. Finally we would like to thank all of you for supporting this project and the actions you are already taking in this time of great tumult to love and support one another. Love and solidarity, ROAR Collective
