The South Florida Prison Book Project Needs Your Help!

Donate Here

The South Florida Prison Book Project sends free books to prisoners in the state of Florida upon request. We are secular, volunteer run, and have been operational since 2011.

Through this service, we not only provide a much-needed distraction from the grim reality of prison life, but enable exchange of ideas and information between people on both sides of the bars. We aim to build genuine connections with the prisoners we serve, as well as educate those of us not incarcerated about the injustices of the prison system. Each week, we receive letters in the mail from prisoners requesting books, and we fulfill these requests with literature from our extensive library in Lake Worth, Florida.

We are fundraising to cover the costs of our project for a full year. While this project is desperately needed, it is also costly to ship books and print resources as much as we do. We are not a large NGO or non-profit and rely on private donations. With financial stability we will be able to reach more prisoners, host more events, and make this project more sustainable.

Your money will be going towards:

Postage and shipping materials
Printing Costs – we give each prisoner an invoice and resource guide
Materials for writing letters to prisoners
Purchasing dictionaries – our number one request
Shelves
Saving to move to a better location

Any extra money not spent within a year will roll into the year after to ensure a future for our project.

Thank you so much. Any amount will help.
