On May 23, 30th and June 6, 2017 at 5:30pm, community members will be gathering at the Confederate memorial located in forest park (5570 Confederate Dr, St. Louis MO) to demand the city take down the 33 ft slab of granite, which sits south of what is called the “Delmar Divide,” a imaginary but very real line separating the impoverished and oppressed on the north side from the wealthy in the south.
We are gathering these three days because it is beyond time to educate ourselves and others on the racist and revisionist history this monument represents.
In response to our mobilization, we’ve discovered counter actions are in place and violent threats have been made.
St. Louis is not a city to be intimidated by violence or brutality, whether us be from police, national guard, or some fascist thugs but this does not mean we can’t use the help.
We’re calling on all spectrums of the Left to come to St. Louis if you can make it here on the dates listed above. On social media, the far-Right has made a multitude of threats, so come prepared to defend.
