Update On the Case of the Political Prisoners of the Community Assembly of Eloxochitlán de Flores Magón, Oaxaca

Yesterday, Friday September 22, in the municipality of Huautla de Jiménez, a hearing took place against members of the community assembly of Eloxochitlán de Flores Magón, Oaxaca.

In a new development, after nearly two years of imprisonment of various members of the community assembly, four of the “witnesses,” sympathizers of the Zepeda Cortés family, presented themselves to give their testimonies. This included the self-appointed current municipal president of Eloxochitlán de Flores Magón, Elisa Zepeda. What is not a surprise is that these “witnesses” were accompanied by a large group of security, bodyguards and individuals there to intimidate the families of the accused.

We call on everyone to be alert to whatever may happen in the following days, given that on past occasions this attitude translated into repression and detention of our compañerxs. We send a gesture of solidarity to the community assembly of Eloxochitlán de Flores Magón and we send our love to those who remain imprisoned.
