Update from the Appalachian territory about the reassignment of a notorious goon of the pipeline industry.
Known Water Terrorist and USFS Jefferson National Forest Supervisor Joby Timm has been temporarily reassigned to the U.S. Forest Service’s regional office in Atlanta. Although reassigned, Timm will remain on the Water Terrorist List for using his role as a national agency supervisor to protect the interests of the Mountain Valley Pipeline, that included the abuse of water and forest protectors in the Hellbender Autonomous Zone and the destruction of a public woodlands that is key ecosystem for clean headwaters and a protected environment for endangered species.
As the Jefferson National Forest Supervisor, Joby Timm conspired with Mountain Valley Pipeline private security, Global Security. His coordination with private security included using his law officers to knowing starve and endanger the safety of Nutty, Deckard, and Fern who took to ariel blockades and monopods on forest service roads and trees in order to stop destructive pipeline construction. Timm authorized officers to use heavy ATV’s on the Appalachian Trail, a federal protected public trail when monitoring Nutty, Deckard, Fern, and the support camp at the Hellbender Autonomous Zone. While Nutty, Deckard, and Fern gave us all inspiration to fight oil and gas infrastructure and federal repression, Joby Timm demonstrated that the US Forest Service continues to support a nationalist agenda of colonization and ecocide.
In July of 2018 an appeals court came down on the Forest Service for dismissing multiple environmental concerns when granting the Mountain Valley Pipeline to fell trees and trench through a public forest. The USFS now has to reconsider the permit they previously granted because it was struck down by 4th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals and prompted the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) to order a stop work order on the construction of the Mountain Valley Pipeline.
Joby Timm and members of his agency now face multiple lawsuits for their use of excessive force on non-violent water protectors. The USFS is now trying to mitigate the actions and outrage of Timm and his agency by reassignment and issued a public apology for their law officers involvement in the destruction of sections of the Appalachian Trail.
Beth LeMaster will take over as Interim Supervisor of the Jefferson National Forest but we expect Joby Timm to return once the USFS feels the dust of his violent actions has settled.
Special thanks to the relentless work of Appalachians Against Pipelines and Floyd County lawyer Tammy Belinsky for bringing down Joby Timm. We hope that full justice will be served to Timm for his actions. Until then keep a watchful eye on this known water terrorist.
